The Intensive English Centre at Chester Hill High School was established in 1978 to acquaint post primary school age migrant and refugee students with the NSW secondary school system and curriculum.

At Chester Hill High School IEC we aim to maintain and further develop a caring, friendly, stimulating and enjoyable learning atmosphere. We wish to prepare our students to confidently meet the challenges of a complex and changing world by developing their full potential socially, creatively, academically, physically and emotionally.

International Students at Chester Hill IEC
Chester Hill IEC welcomes international students each year. The IEC prides itself in being able to offer an academically and socially supportive environment. One of the IEC’s strengths is its English as a Second Language support team who assist our international students in the following ways:
- Stage classes that implement the Curriculum Framework and the NSW Board of Studies Syllabuses
- Additional support such as small group tutorials is provided
- Individual Educational Plans tailored for students’ academic, social and welfare needs
